Out of 712 Teams, Students from the Faculty of Forestry, Hasanuddin University, Create a Clean Water Innovation

Hasanuddin University students have once again achieved a proud achievement at the national level. A student team from the Faculty of Forestry, Hasanuddin University, successfully secured the Top 1 Proposal with the highest score out of 712 participating teams in a grant program organized by the Mining Office (KPP). For this achievement, the team also received a Rp 20 million grant to develop their proposed innovation.

The proposal submitted is entitled “BERSUA: Innovation of Reverse Osmosis System Integrated with Waste Management in Efforts to Provide Clean Water and Proper Sanitation on Lakkang Island, South Sulawesi.” This innovation presents the idea of ​​utilizing reverse osmosis technology integrated with waste management as a solution for providing clean water and improving proper sanitation for communities in the island region.

The proposal team is chaired by Devlin Arvael Mardianto, a Forestry Engineering student from the class of 2024, with members Kezia Christialine Tarimbani, a Forestry student from the class of 2025. In the process of preparing and submitting the proposal, the team received guidance from Iswanto, S.Hut., M.Si. as the supervising lecturer.

Through the BERSUA innovation, the student team hopes to make a tangible contribution to addressing clean water access issues while promoting sustainable environmental management on Lakkang Island, South Sulawesi. This achievement demonstrates the commitment of Hasanuddin University’s Faculty of Forestry students to providing innovative solutions that impact the community and the environment.
